ThaliScan — Privacy Policy
Effective: 31 August 2026 · Contact: sangramdhurve96@gmail.com
ThaliScan ("the app") is a calorie and nutrition tracker for Indian food, operated by GaribaITServices (Sangram Dhurve), India.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and name if you sign in with Google; a random identifier if you continue as guest.
- Health & fitness information you enter: meals, calories, weight, water, exercise, and your plan answers (age, height, weight, goal, activity level, diet type). Steps are counted on your phone only if you tap Connect on the Steps tile and allow the Physical activity permission: ThaliScan reads your phone's built-in step sensor, keeps a per-day total on the device, and never uploads it. If you also connect Health Connect, step totals are read from it (read-only) and likewise stay on your device. Progress photos and your profile photo are stored only on your device.
- Meal photos: processed transiently to analyze your food and never stored on our servers. Only a small thumbnail may be kept on your device for your diary.
- Diagnostics: anonymous crash reports and usage analytics (Firebase Crashlytics/Analytics) to keep the app working.
- Purchases: subscription state via RevenueCat and Google Play. We never see your card details.
How your data is used
Only to run the app: computing your plan, keeping your diary in sync across devices, enforcing fair-use scan limits, fixing crashes, and improving features. We do not sell personal data or use it for third-party advertising profiles. Ads on the free tier are served by Google AdMob under its own policy.
Where it lives
Your diary syncs to Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, Mumbai region) under your account, protected so only you can access it. Data is encrypted in transit.
Deletion
Delete your account any time in Settings → Delete account, or from the web at this page. Deletion permanently removes your cloud data and account.
Not medical advice
All numbers are estimates for general wellness, not lab values. Consult a professional for medical advice.
